Nice people from sales to finance
I was stranded at a medical clinic waiting for my son to give me a jump to start my car. I called Shamar at GMC and asked if it was safe to drive once the car was started as there were multiple things flashing. He told me not to worry and to drive to the dealership without a problem. He took care of me when I got to the dealership. It wasn’t long and I was back on the rode. Thanks to Shamar for calming my fears.
They took very good care of us, kept us informed and did the work as quickly as possible.

Very happy with the service from sales representative Branden and the broader GMC team. They focus on understanding your needs first, not necessarily trying to sell you anything in particular. They are very transparent, honest, and show they care. This immediately showed me they are a party who you can trust. They want you to have a great experience and ultimately make the right decision with regards to purchasing a car. Also the service and follow-up after the initial agreement was great and they were able to deliver the car faster than expected. Very happy with my purchase and entire process; kudos to Branden and the GMC team for making that happen!

Great experience purchasing a car from Rochester Subaru! The staff was excellent and had answers for all our questions. I recommend checking them out if you’re interested in a vehicle as Subaru are number 1 in safety!
I contacted the dealership about a used Ford they had just listed on the site. Ian Bergstrom was the salesman that was taking care of me. The truck was listed with a "coming soon" status and was still going through their inspection and maintenance routine, but Ian was able to give me all of the information I asked for very quickly. I didn't have to wait long for him to set me up with a time to check out the vehicle and go for a test drive, and I assume he put a priority status on the maintenance to make it available. After the test drive, I let him know that I hadn't been searching long and that the truck wasn't exactly what I was looking for. Ian was persistent, but in a no-pressure way that I hadn't experienced at a dealership before. After letting him know that I wasn't yet comfortable calling off the search just yet, I was informed that management approved the Penz lifetime powertrain warranty for me: something that this truck didn't meet the typical brand, mileage, or age requirements for. After thinking it over, I let him know that I still wanted to keep searching for a truck that checked all of my boxes. Ian asked for a list of things I wanted that were not met by this vehicle, and I was honest with him. I let him know what I wanted (within reason), and even an overall price that I was comfortable with. The next morning, he told me management approved those items which included an altered price. I purchased the truck and have been driving it for over three months now. I'm still happy with it, but more than that have been happy with the level of effort and support received from Penz. Not only was Ian great to work with, but the sales manager, admins, and financial employees have been great, too. This is the first time I've purchased from a dealership that I didn't feel pushed around or taken advantage of during and after the process. I went in very reserved, wary, and ready to leave as soon as I felt like somebody was trying to pull one over on me. It didn't take long to realize that was unnecessary. I'd again like to say how pleased I was, and remain, with the treatment I received and the conduct of the employees at the GMC location in Rochester. I do feel like they went above and beyond to make sure I left the lot happy with the transaction.
Esad was awesome. We’ve worked with him before. He’s helped us look at several vehicles and buy one before. I called Subaru and set up a test drive and then Esad called me back so that he could help me directly. The car was great and in great condition. It was clean which some other dealers in the area don’t seem to care too much about. They handled everything really smoothly and were super open to questions and feedback. An excellent experience, nicely handled by Esad. Would be happy to work with them again if I need another car.

Jesse and Austin did an amazing job this week delivering our new 2025 Nissan Rogue SL AWD, and completely exceeded our expectations in every way.  After a failed experience with my local Twin Cities dealer, I contacted Nissan of Rochester by email after hours.  Jesse contacted me as soon as the dealership opened the following morning.  We worked together to identify a Rogue that met our options requirements and Jesse put the deal together within an hour.  Upon arrival, there was a welcome sign on the mirror and the car was detailed to perfection. Jesse spent over an hour working with us on features and technology. Austin sealed the experience with his incredible knowledge of finance and paperwork efficiency.  Nissan of Rochester provided a much better service contract that my neighborhood dealer offered and at a lower price.  Honoring customers with humility, attention to detail, and a better value in price, trade-in and service contract make us customers for life.  No one can do it better!

I have been looking for a good car for almost three weeks. Then l found Chevrolet of Spring Valley. I saw this beautiful Buick LaCross on the internet in there lot. I called about it. Everything that the salesman, Clayton told me was to good to be true. I talked my friends into going to the dealership to see the car. I cried a little when l saw this 2015 Buick LaCross. Everything thing that Clayton told me was true and more. My dreams about finding a great car came true. I drove it and l knew it was the car for me. Clayton was working with another customer and he was helping me. The manager, Kevin came over and helped too. I told Kevin that l had been praying for a good car. Kevin said that he was a fellow Christian and that he was he could help. They were wonderful. I just love my car. Thank you so much.

My experience with Penz Subaru was excellent. All of the staff treated me well and seemed to care about meeting my requirements for my next car. I knew what I wanted. They never pressured me for anything. They did a follow up a few days later asking if I had questions about my new vehicle, if I was satisfied and if I loved what I was driving.

My recent service visit went well. The only thing there was a little confusion on was my recall on the 6.2 L engine that they told me they were going to scope and decide if it needed to be replaced.When I got it back they said it wasn’t due for that yet because GM had not requested that vehicle to be done, even though the MyGmc app shows it was. I also thought when you brought your vehicle in for service, they would run it through their car wash, selling point when you buy there, but wash always seems to be broke down.
Ben was very kind and helpful. He gave me a phone number in case I had any questions while service was being done to my vehicle. He also walked me to my vehicle to make sure everything was right once the service was completed.
The customer service at Subaru is superior to other dealerships. Regardless of your needs they will do their best to make sure they are met. They truly lookout for you, whether you are in the service department or buying a new car. The whole expereince from the service department, to the sales team, and financing was excellent! A coulple of names I want to mention. John the service manager took care of me, and it was much appreciated. Levi and Caleb helped me in the sales department, truly an awesome buying experience. Alex helped me with the financing portion and all the vehicle add ons from the extended warranty to the maintence wrap. Thanks, Again Jordan F.

When I talk with the salesperson on what I was looking for she know what to look at first. And didn't try to sell me something with more options then I was looking for. The same for the extra they talk about during the financing. They told us what the had and never pushed for us to get any more then what we choose.

Great dealership. I've purchased two (used) cars here. Really enjoyed the no pressure process. The service department is fantastic. They keep you informed, answer all of your questions, and give you time to make decisions. Plus they have all the amenities that most dealership service departments offer. I highly recommend Rochester Subaru for both auto purchases and service! 7/22/2025 Update: just traded in my used 2021 Outback Touring XT for a 2025 Outback Touring XT on a three year lease. Not only did I keep the same payment as my trade-in, but I'm getting a $3100 check back. Very simple process, no haggling, just a very good discount, $500 bonus on trade-in, cost of extended warranty on trade-in returned (pro-rated). All up-front with no request on my part. Just a really great dealership to work with! 7/25/25 Update: Oops. Forgot to mention that Issah was fantastic to work with. He offered several (many, actually) options to meet my requirements exactly and was very pleasant throughout. Was upfront about options that didn't meet certain of my requirements. Continued to ask questions and we finally found one that met all of my requirements. Shot out to Issah!
An incredibly thorough and informative process. While we were there for several hours, it didn't feel overwhelming or tiring. My wife and I came in with our toddler boys on Memorial Day to buy a van. We were there for only a few hours and our experience was great while buying the van. Our salesman was Brandon McGee and he was fantastic to work with. Our van wasn’t fully detailed yet but while we were waiting for the financing to go through we noticed he was out thoroughly cleaning the van and it looked great! After leaving with the van the check engine light came on two days later and we also noticed the rear AC didn’t work. This dealership offers a 7 day warranty and they stood behind it. We got quoted $4000 to fix our $8500 van and this dealership did not hesitate to fix the issues at no cost to us. This was very impressive that they stand behind their word and we couldn’t be happier going through this dealership! Our only “complaint” is we never received call backs when leaving voicemails for the service team.

Quick straightforward and easy
Tim and Greg in the service dept were incredibly helpful and attentive to my situation when I broke down traveling cross country. I was back on the road within a couple hours although I was towed in near the end of the day. Thanks greatly for the service and hospitality.

Great staff they are not there to just sell you a car they are there to build a relationship with the customer and find you a vehicle that will fit your lifestyle and more importantly your budget they are great at problem solving and finding a solution I purchased two vehicles from the Subaru of Rochester we all know buying a new car can be stressful and give a person anxiety they did a fantastic job of making the process exciting and took away any concerns I had the staff there really care about the people in the community I could see that through my experience I would recommend them to anyone that is on a new car journey purchase
The car repair down the street couldn't get me in earliest by afternoon. We were packed and ready to head home 3 hours away. Since I drive a Denali, I saw the GMC dealership and thought by chance they definitely would know how to help me. I was correct! The gentleman went above and beyond by changing a fuse and not charging me. He ran many diagnostic tests and made sure we were going to be safe on our travels. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!! ( Those "service trailer brakes" alarms are unforgiving.)
Initially, our experience was not very good and we were left extremely disappointed. We were told our vehicle would be ready to pick up and it would be fully detailed and have the glass protection and rust inhibitor applied. When we got there, we were told by our sales person that it was done and the vehicle was detailed. The vehicle was not detailed and was dirty on the inside and outside. I got a phone call from service on the following Monday to set up the appointment to apply the glass protection and rust inhibitor. When i told the person who called we were told it was done already, Instead of checking into it, they said "oh, never mind then." I had to ask them to check into it and it indeed was not done. Once it was done, the glass protection was not buffed out well and my windshield was full of marks or streaks. I had to bring the vehicle back to service a few days later because the android auto was not staying connected to my phone, still. They kept it for the day and never found anything. They asked if they could wash it for me and I said yes. The next day, I noticed what looked like clear coat peeling where water spots were all over the entire vehicle. I was furious, but my husband reminded me the sales person who helped us with our paperwork and our sales person we worked with both told us the bumper-to-bumper coverage included paint and defects. This is our first non-GM vehicle so we trusted what we were told. In fact, the sales person who we worked with for the financing told us their Skip Chip product was worthless and he doesn't sell it or recommend it for anyone. It was a product I was interested in because I drive a lot for work, but we decided against it based on the advice from this guy. A week later I had several chips of paint missing from my hood and the clear coat issue. I was fuming to find out we were deceived. Suddenly this $50,000 investment was something I couldn't stand the sight of because it was always something up to this point and the spots were just the icing on the cake after being lied to. I am a nurse and work from my car. The vehicle was something I purchased for myself to have new, reliable vehicle for all my miles. I was heartbroken and felt taken advantage of and angry. This was the second vehicle we had purchased brand new from the Nissan/GMC dealerships now owned by Penz - our first one was purchased when it was still Lupient - and I was treated like a stupid female and talked down to by the service department every time I went for service and our problem with our terrain was never properly documented and we were tossed around so much that we gave up on trying. I was really starting to regret doing business with them again, but figured it was under new ownership so it has to be different this time. I called Lindsay, one of the sales managers at Penz, as a last ditch effort to try to have my frustrations heard and see what options existed, if any. When I saw her in person the first time, I eventually broke down in tears because I was so gutted by everything. We left that meeting finally feeling heard and listened to and were hopeful. The next day, my husband called me and said he had great news for me. He had talked to Lindsay and they replaced the hood on my Rogue with a brand new one, detailed it thoroughly inside and out, and because we were given misleading information about a product that would be very valuable to me, Penz was covering half the cost of applying the Skip Chip to my front end!! Lindsay, Kevin, and everyone truly went way above and beyond anything we ever could have imagined! My heart is so full with how they listened to me/us and how dedicated they were to making it right!! I will absolutely keep going back there, as long as Lindsay and Kevin stick around!! I get to pick up my Rogue today after a week and a half in a loaner car and I cannot wait!!!

I cannot say enough good things about the service department at GMC in Rochester. My vehicle suffered catastrophic engine failure while I was in Rochester attempting to get to the Mayo Clinic. I live over 3.5 hours away and had only recently purchased the vehicle, so I was extremely stressed and overwhelmed by the situation. What I expected to be a simple repair quickly turned into a nearly 9-week ordeal involving my warranty company and the remanufactured engine company they selected. None of those delays were the fault of the dealership. Throughout the entire process, the service department maintained excellent communication, answered my questions, and treated me with patience and kindness every time I called for updates. They went above and beyond advocating on my behalf and navigating the endless headaches created by the warranty and reman companies. What impressed me most was their honesty and attention to detail. After the replacement engine was installed, they discovered timing issues with the remanufactured engine. Instead of taking shortcuts or sending me down the road in a vehicle that wasn't right, they addressed the problem and made sure everything was repaired correctly. That level of integrity is hard to find. I've dealt with a lot of service departments over the years, and I can honestly say I have never felt more comfortable or confident in a team handling my vehicle repairs. They consistently put my mind at ease during an incredibly stressful situation and made sure I would be getting back a safe and reliable vehicle. Even though I live over three and a half hours away, the next time I'm in the market for a vehicle, I will absolutely consider making the trip to purchase from them. Their professionalism, honesty, and commitment to doing things the right way have earned my trust and my business. Thank you to everyone involved (especially Jason) for going above and beyond.
